Breast Cancer Program

Program Leader(s): Lewis A. Chodosh, MD, PhD and Angela DeMichele, MD, MSCE

This program brings together investigators from diverse disciplines and focuses their collective energies on understanding, preventing and treating this disease. While genetics served as the nidus for program development initially, there now is a wide cross-section of interactive investigators involved in many areas of breast cancer-related research. Interactive subgroups currently focus on four research areas: Biological Science, Genetic Epidemiology, Breast Imaging, Population Science and Prevention. The Rena Rowan Breast Center, a new multidisciplinary clinical breast center which opened in November 2000, serves as the focus for all translational and clinical research projects.
